A collaboration with the team at Ultimate Ears & Logitech for their popular Bluetooth speaker the UE Boom. We designed the interaction and UI motion around 'Party Mode'. Party Mode is a way to sync up to 100 speakers to play the same audio.
With the ability to combine 100+ speakers and limited screen real estate, the interaction and motion of the UI was essential to the experience.
Subtle motion cues were designed to inform the user and provide valuable feedback throughout the syncing experience.
For example, once synced connected speakers pulse in rhythm. An elastic line is drawn when dragging speakers to reinforce the idea of connection.
A subtle bounce animation was designed on release of a speaker to give the experience a playful interaction.
